I love to cook. The ritual of planning, shopping and preparing meals for my family is very satisfying to me. Even so, there are some kitchen chores I simply don't like to do. Peeling potatoes. Cutting raw meat into bite sized pieces. And, this time of year, shucking sweet corn. It is such a mess, you never get all the silk removed. Even so, I love sweet corn and my family loves sweet corn so it is on the menu tonight.
I worked a half day today, took the girls to the pool and they came home kind of tired and bickery. They were rattling around the kitchen while I was prepping dinner and I had an "Ah-Ha Moment." These girls are old enough to shuck sweet corn!
That was a very lovely realization..... Kinda made my day.
