Blogging is like so many things.... You neglect it for awhile, then it gets harder and harder to start again. This blog has certainly been neglected lately, so I thought I would just take a big bite, share some photos, catch up and start again.
Ava swam in the state swim meet! She got a fairly awesome state championship team shirt and sweatshirt, and had to endure her proud parents forcing her to pose by the state swim meet sign. She was a squeaker state qualifier, but she had a great swim at the meet. It feels like the experience lit a little fire in her - we are taking a little break from swimming in the post season so she can do Girls on the Run, but she is already looking forward to the summer season.
Amelia hugs a barely tolerant Orbit....
Mom loves Amelia! Enjoying what has become a Friday night dinner tradition, this time at the newly remodeled Mulligans at the Indianola Country Club.
For Spring Break the girls and I took a little road trip to Minneapolis. We started our trip with a night at the Waterpark of America. Lucky for us that also included some time with our cousins! Here's Ava, Matt and Amelia pausing JUST long enough for me to take their picture...
The set up at the Waterpark is perfect for families. There's a bunk bed nook built into the wall, which the girls loved. We flipped a coin to see who got the top bunk - Amelia won, but nearly immediately told Ava she could have it. I don't think she ever wanted to sleep on the top bunk, but she did want to win that coin flip!
Water babies!
A burger from Five Guys after two days of swimming? Maybe the best burger EVER!
Then it was off to Mall of America! Amelia brought her brand new Isabelle American Girl doll, an early birthday gift from Papa and Grandma. She was just beyond thrilled....
Ava, looking about 16 years old, curled up in a chair that she was trying to convince me she must have in her room....
But Mousie and Two still made the trip, so she probably isn't growing up too fast!
So far the weather doesn't feel much like Spring, but during one nice-ish day John and Ava managed to squeeze in their first round of golf for the season....
